“Dude, where’s the boozecast?” - Zach Weiner

Truer words, Zach. There’s a good answer for all of it, I’m sure. Allow me to explain a bit:

There’s a lot of restructuring that needs to be done around here. Both on the website, and with the show itself. It’s going to take a lot of work, and a lot of time and effort, since I’ll be essentially “Re-Booting” the series. Making I’m Just Drinking: The Podcast has been a monumental learning experience, and I’ve already gotten so much from it just from screwing up time and time again and figuring out how the damned thing works.

There’s going to be a few changes with show format. For the typical episode, they’re going to be shorter (under ten minutes) and feature a single comic or drink. Convention episodes are going to be interesting, as I’ve got quite a few of them coming up. I’ve got two episodes and likely oodles of bonus material in the works from Genericon coming soon, and from then on you’re going to see a lot of Con episodes. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I will making them. In addition, the old episodes will be re-mastered for audio quality, tightening up the pacing, iPod compatible format, and making them just better in general. I hate to pull a Lucas like that, but there are things that acutally need fixing with the old epiosdes.

On a side note, I’m on an never ending quest to figure out how to spice things up with the show, and otherwise make it better. So I ask to you all, what would you like to see on the show? Drop me a line at glitchphil@gmail.com

Anyway, thanks for watching and reading, and sticking around while I get my shit together over this program. A lot goes into this program, so I do my best to get it all done proper. Thanks again, and stay tuned.

Open Call for Taste Testers

Hey folks. The Green Avenger episode of I’m Just Drinking is delayed. Mainly due to the fact that it’s getting tougher and tougher to rely on a small group of folks for show appearances. I mean, everyone’s got lives to attend to, and not everyone can do every show (as I’m sure you’ve noticed).

So I’m doing this now: If you are in the Philadelphia area, and you would like to make an appearance on the show, drop me an e-mail at glitchphil@gmail.com. Basically we’ll talk for a little bit and I’ll decide if you’re IJD material (note: key criterion include liking to drink, liking comics, and liking to be an ass on camera). You’d have to be free on Friday nights every now and then, and that’s pretty much that.

Anyhoo, we’ll be making an appearance at Genericon, shooting an episode this weekend. If you’re going to be there, let me know. The more the merrier, etc. Guests will include Rob Balder of ErfWorld & PartiallyClips fame, and Jeph “OH MAH GAWD JEPH JACQUES” Jacques, of Questionable Content. We’ll be making a two-parter out of it, hopefully.

Stay tuned.

Is it 2007 already?

Howdy. Hope everyone had a Drinktastic New Year’s Eve.

Just wanted to let everyone know what’s coming up for IJD:TP. I’m aiming to have the next episode up on January 24th, featuring The Green Avenger, by Abby L.

After that, we’ll be shooting a new Convention Episode, this time at Genericon, in Troy, New York. Scheduled to appear are Applegeeks Hawk & Ananth, Rob Balder of PartiallyClips and ErfWorld, and the Questionably Contented Jeph Jacques & Cristi Cates.

Also wanted to make it known that we are selling the video adspace that plays during the commercial break of the show. If you have, or want to make a video ad promoting your Webcomic (or anything at all), you can contact me at glitchphil@gmail.com. If you need help, or want to commission a video ad for a modest price, that is totally an option.

Aaaaand don’t forget the LJ Feed and iTunes Feed. I received an 80 Gig Video iPod for Christmas(!), and I noticed a problem with the video format, so I’ll fix that ASAP. In the meantime, I’m about to embark on a week straight of production on my Senior Thesis Film, “How I Met My Best Friend.” It’s the touching story of two love-spurned women uniting against the common enemy (that bastard) and accidentally murdering him, becoming best friends in the process. I’m hoping it turns out as hilarious as I think it is.

Anyway, I’ll see you guys soon. Stay Tunes.

Episode 6 - Holiday Special

The sixth episode, wherein we get more drunk than probably ever before.

On tonight’s episode, we have VG Cats by Scott Ramsoomair and the Child’s Play Charity. The drinks featured are Krug’s Christmas Egg Nog, and The Santa’s Beard.

Child’s Play is a holiday charity that brings video games, toys, books and movies to children’s hospitals across the globe. For full details on how you can participate, go to www.childsplaycharity.org.

I’m glad I was able to get another episode produced before the holidays take hold. This is my Christmas Present to you, the viewers. The first half of January is dedicated to producing my senior thesis project, so the next episode should come out sometime before the end of January. Enjoy your holiday and please drink responsibly.

Episode 5 - White Lightning Productions

The fifth episode, wherein we discuss naughtybits and danglyparts.

On tonight’s episode, we have White Lightning Productions comics Chocolate Milkmaid and The Misadventures of Chichi-Chan. The drinks featured are The Chocolate Milkmaid and The Chichis.

This episode was a lot of fun to shoot, but a nightmare to edit. And I do mean hellish. But putting it up here on the intarwubs just for you guys makes it all worthwhile. Also, my apologies for saying “White Lightning Press” instead of the proper “White Lightning Productions.” My own group is Biscuit Press, so it’s a force of habit.

That being said, it’s iffy when the next episode will air. I’m not going to give you any dates here, as the winter break and finals are upon us, separating me from my equipment and my crew. There could be an episode in two weeks, there could be one in five or six weeks. It’s up in the air right now. In the meantime, I’ll do my best to dig up some more bonus material for you to scope out. Deleted scenes, outtakes and the like.

I’ll also be shooting my senior project’s first week of production from the 3rd to the 9th (which, as sorry as I am to say, totally takes priority), and if I can, I’ll be posting some raw footage that’s good enough for teaser purposes. In addition to that, I have those old ConnectiCon videos I have to catch up on, various school projects I’ve never posted online, and so on.

Any number of those things will be posted on YouTube and my LiveJournal between now and the next episode. It’s the least I could do for y’all. Stay tuned.
